Little Shop of Horrors
Martin P. Robinson's puppet design for Audrey II is iconic, but for this production, I opted for a much different approach. Instead of the modified Venus Flytrap/pod style used by Robinson, I based the design of these puppets off of the Australian Pitcher Plant (cephalotus follicularis). This design allowed the puppeteer to stand inside of pods 3 and 4 which provided a nice sense of tension to its reaching movements.
